TypePad is a blogging service that helps users create original, attractive blogs on any topic or theme. The user begins by selecting from one of the application’s premade designs. Skilled users can build their own design through TypePad’s customization tools. After designing the blog, the user can get started on their first entry. The blog entry page includes all the typical elements a blogger can expect, including a title field, body with text editing tools and access to a permalink for the post. Users can also add images, audio clips, videos and links to their posts. After completing the post, the user can begin marketing their blog and growing their audience. A small box at the bottom of the form is automatically selected and signs the user up for the TypePad newsletter and notices. This must be manually unchecked to opt out of email updates.

TypePad offers bloggers three membership plans to choose from. The first is the Plus plan which costs under $10 per month and includes access to pre-made templates, personal support and the ability to map the user’s domain. The Unlimited plan costs around $15 per month and includes the ability to create unlimited blogs and fully customizable design features. The Premium account costs around $30 per month and includes priority level customer support.
